But I'd still pay to see it. Catania, an Italian soccer team, has decided to employ a new strategy to score goals. They're dropping their shorts on penalty kicks--not to distract the goalie with their comely thighs, as I first suspected. No, it's to block his sight line so he can't actually see the kick being made. Okay, I recognize that this may, MAY, be bending the rules of polite competition. But let me just say that I was once stuck in a security line for almost two hours at the Manchester airport with the Roman soccer team. And if the Catania team looks anything like the Romans, I'm thinking they can raise their ticket prices a LOT.
Ohhh - I read about this yesterday! I would love to be present at practice when they are running through this play.

Football has never really interested me before. Suddenly my mind is changing.
And I have to say that being stuck in an airport is always so dreary but with the Roman football team there, I can't imagine it being so bad!

Football is the world's greatest game, and it doesn't hurt that footballers usually take their shirts off at the end of matches.

I was talking exactly about this with a colleague yesterday. We couldn't figure out why the trick worked - we thought he knew the other guy was gay? you have explained it to us! Too bad I missed that game!
By the way: just discovered your blog and love it. It is so... refined and elegand!
Ciao!
