I have to say a huge, heartfelt "thank you" to everyone of you who left comments, e-mailed, called, or sent Facebook messages about Emma's passing. I know how awkward it can feel to express those kinds of sentiments, particularly to someone you haven't met in "real" life. But you did, and your generosity and your kindness have been incredibly comforting. She was a part of our family for almost ten years, and to lose her is gutting. (I'm finding tea time particularly difficult. I always gave her a biscuit when I had tea. And coming home and not seeing her popping up in the window at the sound of the car about did me in. I tried to stay out of the house as much as possible yesterday because it was easier not to think about how empty the house feels without her.) Anyway, I know this is going to take some time and I promise not to let the Blog A Go-Go turn into a maudlin place. But I wanted you to know that she meant the world to me, and the fact that you marked her loss with your kind words helped me immeasurably.
And on a MUCH lighter note, if you haven't already sent your holiday greetings, you might enjoy the sendables at Jib Jab. You can put yourself into a hilarious elf dance video or a parody of "It's a Wonderful Life", a movie that totally deserves to be parodied, in my opinion. Enjoy.
